Literacy Festival – Meet Authors, Book Signing & Readings
Freebies, Raffles, Food & Fun
 

 

San Antonio, Texas – Saturday, March 29th - Bringing established and emerging literary talent to your neighborhood, this first annual literacy festival is intended to promote reading for all ages. Featuring various authors from the San Antonio and Texas Hill Country area, join us from noon to 4pm at the Windcrest United Methodist Church for food, fun and freebies.

 

Meet local authors, discuss writing and literacy, stay for book readings and signings, question and answer sessions, activities for children, plenty of food and raffles throughout the day.  There will be something for everyone so bring the whole family, invite your friends and mention it to your neighbors.

 

Putting literacy first, this event will be sure to expand the scope of reading and interest within readers young and old.  Commercial model, Sarah Wineholt, to distribute gift bags and the grand prize raffle.

 

Literary Festival Authors:

 

Angel “Halo” Dunworth, author of Snapshots from Home, Stories from Dysfunctional High School This collection of micro-minis is intended to get the conversation started with your teen and educate parents about many of the issues that face children today. Dunworth was an instructional para-professional

 

Kathleen J. Shields, author of the Hamilton Troll educational children’s story series, promoting knowledge through fully-illustrated rhyming stories; this series will captivate young audiences and teach them life lessons and strong moral values. Other books by Shields’ include A Rainbow of Thanks, Dandy Lion, A Legend of Love & Loss, Ally Cat, A Tale of Survival, the Kaitlyn Jones trilogy and others. Shields’ visits schools throughout the area reading for the children and discussing creative writing with them.
